SAPFM Demos At Lie-Nielsen Show, April 5-6 2013

Yesterday’s delivery of the crates for the April 5-6 Lie-Nielsen Hand Tool Event was a great success. It is tempting to pull open the crates and discover the bronze, steel, and wood goodness within.

The free event is next Friday (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) in our office and shop, 8469 Blue Ash Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45236.

You will find many other makers at the event with tools and other products. Click here to view the list. Juan Hovey is a new fill plane maker who flew in from California. We also have a bookstore that offers discounts on our most popular hand-tool videos and books.

I recommend Making a Joint Stool From a Tree: A Guide to 17th-century Joinery by Jennie Alexander, and Peter Follansbee for more detailed instruction on period techniques. These lessons (wood processing, stock prep and tool selection, joinery, mouldings and turning, drawboring and finishing, among others) can be applied to many other pieces of furniture.
